Personally, chores are the bane of my existence. No really, there is nothing less I would rather be doing on a Saturday than cleaning. In fact chores don't even break my top 100 list of things I want to do. With that said though, I know they have to get done (as I am not rich enough to afford a live in maid). Despite my dislike for the tasks at hand, I have found that it is in my best interest to complete my chores as fast and efficiently as humanly possible.
I have found that many things in life are much simpler if I just spend a few minutes making a detailed list of what I need to get done. Household chores are no exception to that rule.

Take my word for it, you will be surprised at the amount of time saved when you simply have all of your chores in a easy to read and simple to understand format. Setting your cleaning system up this way will allow you to quickly see what has been cleaned this week and what still needs to be done.
As a side note, one benefit of you being more organized, other than your house simply being much cleaner; a good weekly house cleaning checklist will also let you quickly find out if you're Kids, Husband/Wife, or roommates are keeping up with their responsibilities. Like with most other things in life if your loved ones are accountable for their actions, or in actions, there is a much better chance the "thing" they are being held accountable for will get actually done. This could mean less cleaning for you.
